Food causes of High cholesterol

Dietary fat strongly affects cholesterol levels. Saturated fats and trans fats are the two main culprits. These are found in fried foods, bakery items, fast food, processed meat, butter, cheese, cream, and heavy desserts. When consumed frequently, they raise LDL and total cholesterol.

People with weak liver function or slow metabolism are especially sensitive to these fats and should be more cautious about their intake.

Another major reason for high cholesterol is low fiber intake. Fiber helps remove excess cholesterol from the body by binding it in the digestive system. Without enough fiber, cholesterol is reabsorbed into the blood.

To naturally lower cholesterol, focus on fiber-rich and antioxidant-rich foods. Oats, barley, flaxseed, and chia seeds are excellent choices. Garlic and turmeric help prevent the oxidation of cholesterol, making it less likely to form plaques. Almonds, walnuts, and olive oil supply good fats that protect blood vessels and raise HDL.

Vegetables like okra, carrots, beans, and fruits like apples and guavas provide soluble fiber that helps cleanse the blood. Replacing ghee and butter with olive or mustard oil is another simple and effective strategy.
